I like to refer to myself as a "working photographer" which is a simple way of saying I do this to make my living; it's not a hobby.  So as you can well imagine, my work takes me to many interesting places to photograph for some of the finest horses and equestrians in the United States.

That said, recently I was awarded a First & Third Place for Journalist Excellence from the AQHA. This is a HUGE deal for me because there are 2 very fine QH Photographers, Don Trout & Richard Einfeld, who first taught me the business of photographing horses. Additionally, it was my images that also helped Julie Thorson take home a First Place for her feature on the legacy of Nu Cash.

So keep in mind that nothing is impossible to capture on film or chip - it just takes some capital, creativity, and a shared partnership between client and photographer.
